Cookies / Your browser, your choice
Manage
Understand the small amount of browser storage used by this site and choose whether to remember a preference.
What the site code uses
The supplied site code does not set HTTP cookies or include analytics, advertising trackers or third-party embeds. It can store your preference in localStorage when you use the controls below. That preference is not sent as a cookie with page requests.
Hosting or security infrastructure may operate separately from this static code. This page describes the tools included in the website itself, not an inventory of every setting a hosting provider might apply.
A preference, not a tracking profile
The localStorage key sortboasortsafari-preferences contains either accepted or essential. It stores no name, contact details, wildlife observations or browsing history. There is no automatic expiry; it remains until you change it, reset it or clear browser site data.
No optional services are currently installed. Choosing “Accept” records a preference only; it does not activate tracking. Any future optional service would need its own accurate information and appropriate consent controls before use.

Other local activity
The contact composer holds draft text in memory, not in localStorage. Copying a note uses your clipboard after you press the copy button. Downloading creates a file on your device after you request it. Neither action submits the text to this website.
Clearing or blocking storage
Use your browser’s privacy or site-data settings to remove stored preferences. Private browsing, storage blocking or clearing data may prevent a choice from persisting. The reading guides remain available without a saved preference.
